The current Malibu was introduced back in 2016, and for information, this car is the nameplate’s ninth generation. Looking at this fact, it means that this update is likely represents the mid-cycle refresh by Chevrolet.
And this year, Chevrolet engineers are testing out the concept/prototype version of the new 2019 Chevrolet Malibu. At first glance, we can see that there is some improvement in its design.

2019 Chevy Malibu – At the front side of its body, we can see the new headlights. It’s a different headlight, and they are made some improvement, so it looks even more sporty.
I feel curious about the front grille. But because it was covered by black camouflage, I can’t notice whether it’s the new front grille or Chevrolet still using the same grille as the current model of Chevrolet Malibu.
In the back side of its body, the taillights seem very similar to the current version of the Chevrolet Malibu. However, I thought that was a good idea because I love the current taillights style – I bet you love it too.

The size of its body is wider than the current model. It looks, even more, stronger and looks perfect for a mid-size sedan.
They may use the new platform for this new car. And it must be made from lighter materials with more carbon than the metal used for the platform. The size is also perfect because this car is a four-door sedan which specialized for daily family use. So the wider, the car, the more comfortable it is. Good job, Chevy!
2019 Chevrolet Malibu Engine Performance
Some rumors said that the new 2019 Chevy Malibu Turbo would be using the same engine as its predecessor.
However, some also said that the new Malibu would be using the 1.6-liter turbocharged diesel engine which you could also found in the Chevrolet Cruze Diesel. In the Cruze, this engine could produce 136 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque.
So CarsSumo.com thought that in New Chevrolet Malibu, this engine could produce even more power. Anyway, I love the terms ‘diesel’ because it means fast and high torque!
